On Mission in Mons 2024
In January, K180 brought a team to Mons in Belgium to work alongside WOTICM church in the suburb of Ghlin. There is a team at the church who go to the streets twice a month, so it was encouraging to connect with them and to encourage them in their ongoing witness. Our team were a mix of RJEF and HM graduates from Belgium, including K180 staff member Maritza, EEI evangelist Stuart Brash from Scotland and Gareth.
Highlights of the weekend included leading some evangelism training led by Gareth and Stuart at the church on Saturday morning, preaching the Gospel outside a large shopping mall and engaging those walking past in Gospel conversations. At our debrief after the outreach, a couple of people we met came back to the cafe with us to continue conversations. On Sunday, Gareth preached the Gospel and the team were able to pray for those who came forward in response to the call for salvation, including praying for healing for several people.

On Mission in Brussels, 2019
In August of 2019, K180 was invited, through a History Makers connection, to a church in Brussels called Assemblée Les Messagers to help the church do street evangelism. We were invited by Anne, one of the youth leaders. Anne has a desire to see the youth, most of whom have grown up in church, get saved if they haven't ever made the commitment to Jesus themselves, and also to get involved in evangelism. There were a couple of young people at the church who had expressed a strong desire for street evangelism.
On Friday evening, after a short street evangelism briefing, we went to a busy area near the church where we did two rounds of music, testimony and illustrated gospel messages. The area has a lot of Muslims. We were joined by two former Belgian History Makers participants. Quite a number of people stopped to listen and a good number of conversations were had. As well as inviting people to church, we were also inviting people to an evangelistic event at the church that was being held on the Saturday evening.
Saturday began with evangelism training on why we should share the gospel, gospel ingredients, and a testimony workshop. After lunch we headed to the centre of Brussels, to a busy area with many tourists. We had a few more youth from the church come out to this outreach. Some of the youth did some music and one of them shared a two-minute testimony. Some also shared quick fire testimonies, which was very encouraging since it was their first time sharing their testimonies publicly. People were stopping and there were many conversations. Two of the youth led a lady, called N*, in a prayer of commitment. She also confirmed that a pain she had had in her throat for two weeks had gone soon after she had finished praying. She was given a Dutch gospel tract and booklet.
On Sunday one our team shared their testimony and another a song with the church. The pastor preached about the importance of evangelism. About five people indicated first time commitments to Christ. After the service we went to a park near the European Parliament for a picnic and more evangelism. Many more of the youth who hadn’t come for the Friday and Saturday evangelism came on Sunday. We had three rounds of song, testimony and gospel illustrated messages including quick fire testimonies from the church youth. There were many people stopping to listen and many conversations. One of the church youth who had been joining us since Friday had a conversation with a man called W* who prayed a prayer of commitment afterwards.
It was really encouraging to see the desire for evangelism in the hearts of the youth in the church. We prayed that they would continue to pursue this desire that God has placed in their hearts. We thank God for the people who made the commitment to follow Jesus. We look forward to hearing what The Lord will do in Brussels. Please pray for a continued desire to see people get saved in the hearts of the youth of Assemblée Les Messagers church.
