HM Online Baltics 2020...

It was wonderful to see this 10-week online training become reality and to have participation from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We are thankful to God for our interpreters each week who enabled participants to listen to the guest speaker simultaneously in either Estonian or Latvian. This made a huge difference and naturally meant the training was more accessible. With faculty from 5 different countries, from the US to India, it was a rich experience of learning together.

HM Baltics 2018...This first attempt at a History Makers journey for the Baltics region had a difficult start, with some participants dropping out due to another event happening the same week. However, with faculty support from the UK and the US, the week proved inspiring despite lower than expected numbers. God takes what we have and multiplies!

HM Estonia 2017...The first ever History Makers in Estonia took place in late June. It was not an easy build up to the week with several obstacles to overcome but in working with partners on the ground, all came together! Our testimony is that God is faithful. We had a great group all aged around 20-25. They truly were an outstanding group of young leaders. With a faculty team of two from the US and two from the UK, plus help from our Lithuanian and Latvian HM Champions, we had an excellent week of teaching in the beautiful Estonian countryside. Perhaps one of the most encouraging things towards the end of the week was the opportunity to sit down together with our Champions from Latvia and Lithuania, along with the key leader from Estonia, and see them dreaming/strategising of holding a 'Baltics History Makers Journey' in 2018. Exciting possibilities here. Watch this space.

HM Latvia 2017...This first training in Latvia was special as we had two training events running in tandem, a National Conference for senior leaders and a History Makers Journey for young leaders. And what a great week it turned out to be! Indeed, the dynamic of having some younger and older leaders from the same church made for a strong sense of purpose moving forward from the training. It was also heart warming to hear of one leader who said that they had been praying specifically "for years" for this sort of training to come to Latvia. There was much planning as we concluded the week with participants forming strategy to multiply the training across different areas of the country. Brilliant!

There were several obstacles to overcome before this training week became a reality. In the end a group of young leaders gathered representing several different countries. These young leaders are involved in leading various ministries, and it became apparent quite quickly that the material was ‘hitting the mark’. One leader shared very early on how God had been speaking to him about his call through the initial sessions, a call that he had been struggling with. Throughout the week, vision was clarified for several of those gathered and with clear goals being formed, we watch this space...

God continues to bring His power and glory…
There were two events in 2015...the second event's report was as follows...In 2015 we held a follow up national conference. A smaller gathering met in Klaipeda to explore the eight biblical core values for leadership that is the DNA of History Makers. Led by HM Champion, Ania, and her team, it was a week of much challenge and, by God's grace, growth in understanding of call and ministry With seven different countries represented, HM in Lithuania took place once more in March 2015. With chilly mornings and sunny cloudless skies during the day, the setting by the coast was ideal as young leaders gathered to explore the 8 biblical core values that lay at the heart of HM. It was truly an inspiring occasion with many participants testifying to hearing God speaking so clearly to them. There was an overwhelming sense that the ripples from this HM will go far and wide and bring much glory to Jesus! |
