On mission in Llança, 2022
In September, we returned to to the town of Llança with a small team of three to work again with the growing Elim church plant. Pastor John and his wife Silvia were generous hosts and spoke of their prayer that the weekend be a "catalyst" for street evangelism moving forward. We took time to prayer walk the town on Friday evening. On Saturday, we led some evangelism training for church members in the morning, followed by an early evening outreach near the harbour. There were many visiting Llança as tourists who stopped to listen to the preaching and engaged in conversation with the team. On Sunday morning, the team shared during the service, followed by another early evening outreach near the harbour. The church family seemed encouraged by the team's visit. We look forward to partnering again with the church!

On mission in Girona Province, 2019
Girona
This year half of the K180 team headed to Girona to work with the mother church, Elim Pentecostal Church, whilst the other half went to nearby Llanca. We have partnered with our brothers and sisters at Elim Girona for the 2 previous summers. On Friday evening, upon our arrival, we shared at their ‘Kairos’ youth meeting in testimony, song, and sharing the motivation for why sharing the Gospel is important. On Saturday, we spent the morning leading a training session in putting together an illustrated Gospel message. Some of the team were able to put this into practice downtown as we headed to the Rambla for an outreach. Particularly encouragingly were two young ladies from the church who were translating for the first time, along with sharing testimony publicly for the first time. We were bolstered by a large team from the church out on the streets. On Sunday, the team shared at both the morning service and the evening English speaking service. We thank Jesus for the church’s willingness to step out and go to the streets and for an encouraging weekend serving alongside them! |
Llanca
The other half of the K180 team went to a church in Llanca, after being invited by their pastor, Pastor John. The church in Llanca is a church plant of the Iglesia Evangelica Elim Pentecostal church in Girona, and is the only evangelical church in the village. They currently have about 15 members and Pastor John’s desire is for the people of Llanca to hear the Gospel and to get saved and for the church grow. On Friday we met some of the church members, shared testimonies and prayed for the weekend together. On Saturday we did a prayer walk around the town and went to a high point which overlooks the village to pray over the area, including surrounding villages, some of which have no evangelical churches. We also went to the charity shop run by some of the church members, which has become a great place for building relationships and for sharing the Gospel with the community. In the evening we had outreach and we were joined by most of the church members. A good number of people stopped to listen, resulting in Gospel conversations. On Sunday morning at church the team did a short teaching on Gospel conversations, shared a testimony, and also preached the sermon. In the evening we went back to the same busy spot as the previous evening for evangelism. Cesilio, who has been attending the church recently, gave his life to Jesus that evening! It was exciting to see many of the church members engaging with the local community, building relationships, sharing the Gospel and inviting people to church. Please pray for continued sharing of the Gospel and for God to bless the church with growth in numbers. We look forward to hearing what God will continue doing in Llanca as the church grows. |
On mission in Girona Province, 2018
In the heat of mid-July, a team of 5 travelled to Girona, northern Spain, to work with ELIM Girona in evangelism training and outreach. The weekend saw the K180 KSchoolers teaching evangelism to local believers, leading in worship, and preaching out on the streets. With a good number of church members joining us on the streets in the heart of Girona, we had a good-sized crowd and many conversations ensued including at least one person professing faith in Christ. Believers were encouraged, as were our team, as we saw the power of the gospel evidenced in front of us. There were a number of clear 'divine appointments' and we left Girona with a sense of a deepening relationship with our brothers and sisters there, and rejoicing at what we had seen the Lord doing. |
