HM Iceland 2019...15 young Icelandic leaders gathered just outside of Reykjavik in early March for a weekend of History Makers training. With faculty input from France, Latvia and the UK, it was an inspiring weekend exploring effective biblical leadership. Different cultural perspectives, but firmly based on the word of God, here were 3 days of unpacking the 8 biblical core values for leadership. There was much enthusiasm during the training and some strategic plans to take the training and use it for His glory!

At the end of May the third annual History Makers Journey took place in the beautiful countryside east of Reykjavik. With visiting speaker, Kevin Vickers, imparting notable wisdom, it was an inspiring week of leadership development. We believe God is at work in this nation and there is much to come from emerging leaders eager to please God and not man. Watch this space...

HM Iceland 2015 to 2016...

The first ever History Makers in Iceland took place in June in the shadow of Eyjafjallajokull, the infamous volcano that disrupted European air traffic in 2010. Icelandic young leaders were joined by two from Finland, plus a representative from Brazil and the USA! It was a fantastic week together and one, we are sure, will live long in the memory. The days were literally long as it never got dark (being so far north!), and these long days were enhanced by the presence of a team from sponsors Lifeshape International*, who not only taught, but also served up culinary delights in the kitchen! God was clearly speaking into lives and there was a tangible sense of purpose and expectation as we ended the retreat, and as the participants returned to various parts of Iceland.
A year on and a team of HM 2015 alumni co-ordinated, taught and served at the 2016 journey. Great to see those blessed last year now investing in this year's history makers! With faculty joining from Czech Republic, the UK and the US, it was a special week. Lots of fun, new spiritual insights and leadership 'nuggets' unearthed, as the participants eagerly sought His face during the week. The Icelandic team are already starting to plan "HMI 2017", and there is a palpable sense of expectation that God is using HM to build His church in Iceland.
