We are thankful to God for the following speakers who will be leading us through the History Makers Online (Balkans) training
Laurel Bailey
Laurel is passionate about leadership development, mentoring and encouraging others on their faith journey. She is an active member of her home church in Huntsville, Alabama, USA and has led women’s bible studies for almost fifteen years, served in children’s ministry, and led many short-term mission trips around the globe.
Laurel is also a businesswoman. She is a real estate developer, owning her own company, and is very involved in the real estate community, often speaking at industry events in North Alabama. Laurel has overcome many obstacles in her life including: health scares, new business ventures, and other personal struggles which have deepened her faith and made her increasingly passionate about supporting others through adversity. Her faith in God and his plan for her life have given her the strength to overcome difficulties in ways that give glory to God. Laurel is married to John, a United Methodist Pastor, and has two children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing sports with her children and taking walks with her husband. |
Martin Durham
After spending 15 years employed by Barclays Bank PLC, Rev. Martin Durham received a clear call to leave banking and pursue the office of evangelist, becoming the founding director of Kerygma180 (K180) in May 2001.
Complementing his call to actively proclaim the gospel ‘on the streets’ and to equip young evangelists and leaders, Martin presently chairs the UK 'Emerging Evangelists Institute' (an initiative of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association), and is the European Director of the 'International Leadership Institute', of which History Makers is a part. Martin is ordained as a Baptist Minister (Evangelist) by the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and lives in London with his wife Rachel, and daughters, Annie & Eliza. |
Gareth Hides
Gareth joined the K180 team in 2012, and serves as the Proclamation Ministry Team Leader. His particular ministry passions are to proclaim the Gospel, both in word and song, and to equip and train evangelists in reaching out to this generation.
Before joining K180, Gareth served as a youth pastor for 3 years in the Midlands and as an actor with Saltmine Theatre Company. He is ordained as a Baptist Minister by the Baptist Union of Great Britain, having recognised his calling as an evangelist. Gareth lives in West London with his wife Sarah and their young daughter. Jeff Hoffman
Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan is the Director of Global Missions at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been engaged with ILI for over 15 years, including translation efforts and participating and leading ILI sessions in Nigeria, Kenya, USA and Siberia. He has invested several years with an organisation supporting Bible translation efforts for unreached people groups.

Jamie Ochsner
Jamie was raised by Christian parents and is from Texas, USA. She currently lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA with her twin sister, niece and two nephews. Jamie has been involved in missions to Mexico since she was 12-years-old, and organised and led youth groups, vacation bible schools & mission trips throughout college & during her twenties. She attended Houston Baptist University & New Tribes Bible School, attaining degrees in Theology, and Cross-cultural studies & Communication. After college, Jamie spent 6 weeks in Papua New Guinea doing tribal missions training.
Jamie has been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and has served in Europe for 4 years with Life shape (Chick-fil-A’s non-profit ministry). Having started as a manager, Jamie has been with Chick-fil-A for 10 years, and has been a restaurant owner for the past 4 years. She currently employs 95 members of staff. Jamie has taught at History Makers journeys in Iceland, Belgium, and Finland, as well as providing leadership & mentorship input at History Makers Summits in Poland & Spain. Jamie loves travelling, yard work, and outdoor sports. |
Claire Rush
Dr Claire Rush is the youngest ever Vice-President of The Girls' Brigade International (GBI). Celebrating 128 years of mission and ministry, GBI partners with churches in 50 countries to help girls and young women discover life to the full through local community groups. Passionate about leadership development, Claire has led leadership equipping workshops & events in over 18 countries. Particularly passionate about mentoring female leaders, Claire co-curates Renovo, a new annual retreat style gathering, for female European mission leaders.
Claire has been part of the teaching faculty of History Makers Europe since 2012. As part of the team, she has been coordinator for HMUK and has also taught on teams in Iceland, Moldova, Macedonia, Azerbaijan and beyond. Claire lives in Northern Ireland by the sea. She has recently completed running 100km in a month for charity – she could barely run 30 seconds a year ago! |
Kevin Vickers
Kevin is pastor of All Nations Revival Church in Mitcham, south London. He is passionate about seeing God's Kingdom come and the Church rising up, uniting, and being mobilised to serve God's purposes at this time. Kevin has been involved with ILI, Christian to the Core, and History Makers for just over 12 years and loves being part of “this amazing discipleship and equipping ministry”. He is a 'Walk Through the Bible’ teacher for adults, and teaches a similar age related programme to children in local primary schools in the UK.
His church is actively involved in the local community and heads up a social action programme mobilising Christians from across church denominations to be good news where they live and work. He has a background in banking and finance, and has been married to Jane for 33 years with three grown up children, and one grandchild. |
