IMPORTANT: We are acutely aware that government restrictions may mean that we have to bring one or both ‘in-person’ weekends online. In the event of this, we will issue refunds to participants.
HM Online UK 2020...
Dates of training:
1 October - 19 November |
Our second online training for the UK (following an encouraging launch in June 2020) took place in the autumn. With a scattering of participants joining in from other countries (Czech Republic, Netherlands, Nigeria), a healthy group from across the UK journeyed through 8 weeks exploring the 8 Core Values of biblical leadership that form the heart of History Makers training. We now head toward a hybrid experience (in-person and online) due to start in March 2021. We value your prayer as we seek to plan during continuing COVID-19 uncertainty. Eyes on Jesus!

"The topic Passion for the harvest... really encouraged and motivated me and rekindled so many things in me. Thank you so much, all was a wonderful experience. To God be the glory.” (UK participant) |
“Both this training... and 'Christian to the Core' before it... have rejuvenated my faith. It was just what I needed. I think that the longer one has been a Christian, without realising it, things are left to slip... and for me it was in the whole idea of intimacy with God - which feeds into so much else. I feel now that I don't want to lose again what I have gained from the teaching about the 8 core values... and am so grateful to all of you who helped to make it happen.” (UK Church leader) |

HM UK Weekend 2 - March 2020...At the end of March, we hosted our second weekend of the new format for History Makers UK. However, due to current government restrictions because of COVID-19, we had to move the whole weekend online! Though this was very much a different 'feel' to the History Makers experience, and getting to hang out with other participants was very different, the weekend was received very positively by all involved. (Of course we missed the delicious food and hospitality at King's Park though!!) We were joined remotely by faculty members Pastor Manuel Martin-Arroyo (leader of Elgin Community Church up in Scotland), Prudence Maseko (former K180 team member), Anthony Stewart (HM UK Alumni), as well as some sessions from Gareth Hides who was leading the weekend through. Though online, there were still opportunities to break off into Prayer Triplets and take time to pray into and share what God was saying individually. Some of the sessions covered this weekend included Goal Setting, Integrity, Family Priority, and Stewardship of Time, Finances, and Spiritual Gifts.
We hope to continue with this new format for 2021. The dates are above. We plan to have both weekends take place again at King's Park Conference Centre in Northampton. Applications will open soon. Is there someone you could encourage to apply for the upcoming weekends? |
"[History Makers has] been great for rekindling my walk with God." "It has given me confidence and a boost to keep focus[ed] on what God wants me to do." "I think the material is fantastic." |
HM UK Weekend 1 - October 2019...
In October, we hosted our first weekend of the new-look format for History Makers UK.
We welcomed 11 participants to our venue, King’s Park Conference Centre in Northampton. K-Accelerate participant and HM Romania faculty member Bogdan Mindru joined us for the weekend as well as Pastor Stuart Shackleton. It was great to have returning alumnus Anthony with us to lead a devotion as well. Over the next few months, participants will engage with online videos, read two books we are giving them, and continue to reflect on the core values in small group settings and alongside mentor relationships. Our second weekend will be taking place back in Northampton from 27th-29th March 2020. Please be praying for the participants as they reflect on what they learned on Weekend One and seek to use the core values in their ministry settings back home. |

HM UK August/Sept 2018...
The setting once more for HM in the UK was the beautiful Regents College in Malvern. Spending 5 days or so in that environment lent itself to a deep spiritual retreat as our 2018 intake explored what it means to live out gospel-centred leadership. With participant representation also from Nigeria and the USA, it was a rich time of being in His presence seeking to be better equipped for the task before us. Please pray for the participants as they now seek to work out what the Lord has worked in. |
"God has been working in my life this week" "It has been such a great, blessed and challenging time" (Aga) |

HM UK July 2017...
Another year, another venue! The HM UK journey was privileged to be based in the beautiful rolling hills of Malvern. With some terrific summer weather and an environment that lent itself to a retreat setting, it is safe to say that all involved with the week had an inspiring time. It was a week filled with learning, rest, challenge and, most importantly, hearing from God. Within 48 hours of starting, the testimonies were flowing. God is so gracious. It was a dynamic time, and, by God's grace, we trust a highly significant moment in the lives of these emerging leaders. |
|
"God has cleared my vision, fuelled my passion." "This week has been really blessed by the grace of God. I enjoyed sharing my vision and mission and I am really motivated by the support I received from my friends, or let's say, from my new family." "I feel ten-times more passionate and excited about my vision." |
HM UK July 2016...
We gathered at All Nations Christian College again this year for History Makers UK 2016. This was a wonderful week of deepening relationship with God, seeking Him, hearing from Him, building relationship with one another, catching vision, being challenged, and having fun! With teaching from Iceland, the US, and the UK team there was a wide range of input and a breadth of experience from different areas of the world. It was both encouraging and exciting to hear that many of the participants immediately took what they learned at HM and began using this teaching as they disciple others in their home settings! "The sessions were all super-relatable and easy to understand. The way they were taught made it really applicable to everyday life which made it easy to envision how we can use what we learned back home…I can now go back home and pass on what I’ve learned to other young leaders." “History Makers allowed me to put into practice what was being taught and have time with God by myself to seek Him on what He wanted to show me that week…and He showed me! He’s given me a passion and a vision and I’m so excited to see how God leads me on that. This week really helped equip me to be a leader for Him.” (Katie G, HM July 2016) |

HM UK September 2015...With two church planters joining from France, young leaders from the UK came together to All Nations Christian College for the 2015 History Makers. With teaching from a UK team plus two guests from the US, it was a week of fun, challenge and leadership character shaping! A fantastic week where young lives were further equipped for the urgent Gospel task in hand.
