On Mission in Poland, December 2017
After our visit in May 2017, we were invited to return in December to connect with and encourage Street Church teams again in Poland. This was a short trip during which the K180 team were able to join the teams in the cities of Gorzów and Poznań. This was our first visit to Gorzów, where they have a relatively new team who were formed in April. As is always the case with Street Church, it was refreshing to see the unity as Church congregations from different traditions come together to declare the Gospel on the streets and feed the poor. We were encouraged to see several indicate responses to surrender and follow Christ in Gorzów, including a local young lady, S*, who had never seen Street Church before. She heard the Gospel and wanted to give her life to Christ. A team member was able to pray with her and she hopes to meet up in the future over coffee. Please pray for S* and others who professed faith in Christ. We also heard encouraging news from the team in Poznań, that after the Thursday evening meeting, a man named M*, an alcoholic who the team had been ministering to over several weeks, had responded to the Gospel and been granted a place at a Christian rehabilitation centre in another city. He was due to travel the following day. Please keep the Street Church teams across Poland in prayer. |

On Mission in Poland, May 2017
In May, a K180 team went to Poland for a week’s mission to connect with and encourage different Street Church teams in three cities across the country (Gdansk, Warsaw, Poznań). Street Church is an initiative happening around the world where teams declare the Gospel and feed the homeless and needy. We were invited by the leaders in Poland, Paweł and Marta Bukała. We flew in to Gdansk, where we got a bus straight to the downtown area to connect with the team that evening. On Wednesday, we got the train down to Warsaw, in time for the evening’s outreach outside Centrum Metro. Two people made responses to the Gospel appeal during the evening. On Thursday, the team drove to Poznań for their Street Church outreach. It was a joy to minister alongside brothers and sisters from many different church backgrounds on the streets. On Friday and Saturday, the team connected with Pastor Michał and the team at Church for Warsaw, including doing a “Living Water” bottle giveaway outreach in a local residential area and park. On Sunday, we attended the church family that Paweł and Marta lead, Genesis church, where Gareth H preached. Several came forward during the appeal, either to give their lives to Christ for the first time, or as a recommitment. Thanks for praying for the team during a full-on but fruitful week. It was a blessing to be able to encourage different street teams and get involved in what God is doing in Poland. "I came back almost every day with nothing but the word 'Wow!' on my lips." (Johnny, K180 team member) |
