K180 Missions
K180 regularly takes trainees (and those participating in EEI and HM) on short term missions to Europe and further afield...
Short Term Mission
The goal of short-term missions is both to serve the local church in any given country, and to give opportunity for trainees and those in training, to experience ministry in a different cultural context. We regularly support local missions and churches in Europe and interns will be involved in work agreed in collaboration with the local partner. This will normally include street work, testimonies and teaching and sometimes preaching. To give you more insight into our work, please read the brief articles below on two short-term missions.

Iceland - 2014
On Mission in Iceland
A team from K180 went out to Iceland for a long weekend in February after being invited to work with a group of churches in the capital, Reykjavik. We led an personal evangelism training session, had plenty of time in the city centre doing outreach on the streets, got to be involved in church services on the Sunday, and saw the name of Jesus lifted up! We supported the regular ‘Downtown Mission’, led by a group of local believers, seeking to reach the clubbers on Saturday nights. We brought our red box with us, and got to see some local believers share their testimony publically on the streets for the first time. It was encouraging to hear the Icelandic language proclaiming the gospel to the lost walking past. Our team got to pray with people who responded, both on the streets and in the church. It was a very encouraging mission, seeing people engage with the gospel of Jesus! Thanks for your prayers!

"The creative teaching and street preaching was very helpful to our mission team here, many of the participants from different Churches were encouraged. Our presence together on the street has opened more our eyes to various possibilities and the great opportunity the Lord is granting us to proclaim the Good news of Jesus Christ in Iceland."

Dominic, 18, one of our team, recalls a memorable ministry moment:
“…a young chap, around my age, spoke with Gareth and I after the International Service at Filadelfia church on the Sundayafternoon. He had waited until everyone else had left the room and then came up to Gareth and said he wanted to surrender all to Christ (exactly what Gareth had challenged people to do after the service), and we were both able to pray for him.”
Vilnius - 2012
Following our mission back in October, Bible Way Church in Vilnius invited a team back to help train in evangelism. It was clear from the outset that this was God’s timing for this visit. The young people’s group (18-30) at the church had been faithfully praying for 3 months that God would direct them in evangelism and then they discovered that a church leader had invited us to come. It was an exciting weekend of practical evangelism instruction as well as going onto the streets to proclaim Christ right in the heart of the capital city, Vilnius.
One of the leaders of the young people’s work had a confession at the end of our time,“When the team arrived I was not planning to get involved at all this weekend. Then God challenged me to come to the teaching. I want to tell you that every teaching touched my heart. I wish more people could be here to catch the fire. I am so excited!”
Budapest 2012...
A team of 4 went to Budapest....
Rachel (see Training page for her story) joined the team that travelled to Budapest, Hungary, to work alongside the ‘Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’ and their weekend-long Festival of Hope. As well as helping at the Festival itself (where hundreds came to Christ), the team also took to the streets with a local church. This picture shows Martin sharing Christ with a man working on the river front. At the end of the conversation they prayed together as the man made a declaration of faith in Jesus Christ!
Jenny shares her experience of some of the street outreach:
“Saturday morning outreach was difficult but we persisted and prayed. Then in the afternoon in the very same place a lady steps forward to receive Christ, a man was spoken to who came to church the next day, at times half the street stopped to listen and we had many good conversations. Those who trust in the Lord shall not be put to shame!”
